One of the best moments every year

Every summer, Tremend runs an internship for students who are about to start in software. In July 2022 it was one of the largest IT internship programmes in Romania, with 150 students from across the country. It was also the first one after Tremend joined Publicis Sapient. This was my note on the first day.

§150 first days

Today, 150 new colleagues begin their careers in software development with us at Tremend Software Consulting and Publicis Sapient.

The programme started as a pilot in 2015. By 2022, more than 350 students had completed it in 13 cities in Romania, and over 80% of them had received a job offer from the company, according to Simona Șunel, Head of People Strategy at Tremend.

The trainees did not work on exercises. The 2022 tracks covered data science, AI, embedded and semiconductors, agile management, business analysis and quality engineering. The projects ranged from the company’s internal portal and learning platform to risk management systems for clients in banking, telecom and healthcare. Ioan Cocan, Managing Partner at Tremend, told Revista Biz that this generation focuses on current global problems and on ways to make the world a better place.

The internships were paid, lasted three months, and came with mentoring and coaching sessions. For most of the group, it was their first team in the industry.
